Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies
The absolute BEST homemade cookies! My family requests these OFTEN and I’m sure yours will too! They’re extremely easy to make, but they won’t last long!
I can across this recipe over a year ago, but not sure who it is from but I’m so glad I wrote it down because it’s been a HIT and the perfect homemade gift to give.
INGREDIENTS
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour, spooned & leveled
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted & cooled
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 1/12 cups chocolate chips
Flaky sea salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350F and line baking sheet with parchment paper
In a medium sized bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside
In a large mixing bowl, or kitchen aid, add melted, cooled butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar. The butter can be warm, but not hot. Whisk vigorously for 2-3 minutes until it turns into a paste like consistency ( this is key )
Whisk in egg and vanilla until smooth
Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and use a rubber spatula to fold to combine. Leave a few streaks of flour.
Add in your chocolate chips and continue to fold until fully blended. Do not overmix
With a 1/4 measuring cup, scoop 5-6 cookies onto your baking sheet. For more gooey cookies, bake 12-15 minutes. For a more well-done cookies, bake 15 or more minutes
When they’re fresh from the oven, add a few more chocolate chips on top and sprinkle with flaky sea salt
Set aside to cool & enjoy
